Transitions Lifestyle

I have decided to do some blogging about my experience with Transitions. For a few different reasons. I have struggled with some extra weight for a couple of years now and have decided to go on a sensible program to get rid of it, feel and look better as well as pay attention to some things that are very unhealthy for me.

I am doing this as part of a group and while I will and can only post my results so many people suffer and struggle with extra weight and/or gaining weight due to many different circumstances. The program I am doing is a sensible science based program of eating low glycemic which will reduce FAT not MUSCLE. It is a program that personal trainers are using with their clients, wellness programs are also using this program and there is a program for children that is changing lives and families.

My struggle is with SUGAR, and I am sure I have had this issue since I was a child. It has contributed to my weight gain for sure! I reach for it when I feel good, feel bad, stressed out, celebrating, on and on..I have fond memories of consuming sugar as a child. My mom baked, my dad rewarded us with treats, and my sister and I used our allowance to buy penny candy at a cute little store near our home. My few interactions with my grandfather also involved sweets. He would give us a dime for the old fashioned pop machine in the hotel of their hotel lobby and many times would by us candy in a small cafe in the town they lived in. So there is some of what makes me turn to Sugar since it has good feelings attached to it. I also know it is not good for my health. I do not suffer from type 2 diabetes but it is no wonder why so many people are. The troubling thing is food is a neccessity and high sugar foods are everywhere and placed in places that tempt us in almost everywhere.. Energy drinks, coffee shops, and any social occasion seems to have SWEETS there to eat.

I am not saying I am going to totally cut sugar from my diet but I am going to make smarter choices when I do select them and not as often as I normally would. I usually consume sugar many times a day. This week so far I have had NONE with exception of FRUIT. I feel better and my tummy is flatter.

This is a great program since it tracks what you eat, when you eat, successes, failures or being human. We also gain support from friends, loved ones, a website, and a coach. I also have access to a personal trainer.

I will be posting results in a month of a weigh in and my measurements etc.. At the end of the 12 weeks I will also post the before and after photos along with the weight lost, but more important than that the inch loss since this program focuses on FAT loss not MUSCLE.

Have a great weekend..Think about positive ways to do something for vibrant health.."Transitions is already making me feel better"
